How a website build works — and what it actually costs

One plan: £50 a month for the build and the hosting. That means designing and building your site, hosting it and looking after it, and making small changes when you need them (about 30 minutes of work a month). There's no deposit and no setup fee. It runs for 24 monthly payments; make all 24 and the website is yours. If you need something bigger — an online shop, a booking system, a members area — that is quoted separately.

£50 a month for the build and the hosting. That's the build plus Starter hosting for the 24 months of the plan: hosting on AWS with Cloudflare in front, the HTTPS padlock, 60 days of change history, a check on your site every morning, an info@ email address forwarded to the inbox you already use, small content updates and support from a real person. Once all 24 payments are made the website is yours and £20/month care is optional. Hosting on its own starts at £20/month.

Yes, on suitable builds: a private password-protected panel for your business, kept apart from the website. Before we start, we agree exactly which sections you can edit yourself — photo and project galleries, and products and prices on shop builds. Other sections can be quoted. Photo galleries are already live for a real client (KAP Joinery). You edit the approved content while the layout, branding and mobile design stay as we built them, and nothing changes on your live site until you press publish. Prefer to just email your changes instead? Small changes, about 30 minutes of work a month, stay included in your monthly care — the panel is simply there for owners who like to do it themselves.

Only if you want to update the agreed sections yourself. There's no separate charge, and using it is entirely up to you — but plenty of owners would rather just send changes over. If that's you, email them across and we'll make them as part of your monthly care; the panel is for owners who prefer self-service. Bigger jobs — building whole new pages yourself, several staff editing everything, running a full online shop, or managing orders, customer records or bookings — are a different kind of project and quoted separately.

Most sites are live in about a week once we have your content. Bigger builds are quoted with their own timeline.
